Chief Inspector Keith Vermillion will be at the City of Newberry Mayor’s Office on Wednesday August 18, 2010 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The office is located at 25445 W. Newberry Road, Newberry Florida 32669. Citizens who have a concern are encouraged to meet with Chief Inspector Vermillion. - Commodities will be at the Newberry Municipal Building on August 25, 2010 at 1:00 p.m.
- Easton-Newberry Sports Complex is offering FREE Zumba classes Fridays from 10-11 a.m.
- Garbage pickup days will be the same city wide beginning June 1, 2010. Garbage 2 times a week on Monday's and Thursday's, Recycle North side of SR 26 on Mondays, South side of SR 26 on Wednesday. - It is against the law to dump yard waste or tree debris at the Newberry Cemetery or Newberry Sewer Plant. If you have any information concerning this illegal activity please contact General Services Administrator, Connie Goode at 352-472-8149 or 352-258-3278.

- Vendors are wanted for the Newberry Saturday Morning Market! Downtown Newberry by the Railroad Tracks is a market place where local farmers, hobbyists and crafter's can sell their products directly to the consumer. This Farmers Market is a direct result of the Newberry Main Street Organization, whose goals are to work together with residents, local government and businesses, whose focus is for the physical, economic, historic and social revitalization of the Newberry Community. - The Newberry High School Band of Pride is accepting donations for new uniforms. The uniforms are $300.00 each. There is a need for 50 uniforms. Any donation amount is greatly appreciated. Please send any checks to Newberry High School Band Boosters, 400 SW 258th Street, Newberry Florida 32669.
- The Alachua County Health Department is encouraging citizens to get vaccinated against H1Ni Swine Flu. While activity is well below the levels seen in the summer and fall of 2009, surveillance systems have detected a potential for increased local activity. Flu shots are being offered at the Health Department's main Gainesville clinic located at 224 SE 24th Street, phone number 352-334-7050, and the City of Alachua Satellite clinic located in the Hitchcock's shopping plaza located at 15530 NW US Hwy 441, phone number 386-462-7793. There is no cost for the H1N1 vaccine at the Health Department.
- ATTENTION UTILITY CUSTOMERS Utility payments are due ON OR BEFORE August 16, 2010 to avoid a $10 late fee. Disconnection will occur on July 23rd, the full payment will be required with reconnection penalties.

Attention all Oak View Baseball and Fast Pitch Players. The City of Newberry Parks and Recreation is pleased to announce it has added a bus stop from Oak View Middle School to Easton-Newberry Sports Complex for its After School Program.
