The City of Newberry is very proud of its park system that consists of six parks with an area totaling 160 acres and meeting many needs from passive to active recreation.

The City of Newberry Parks & Recreation is an organization run by a professional staff providing programming for youth and adults of all ages. This family oriented sports and educational programing features a unique concept in multi-recreational facilities.

Newberry Parks & Recreation is proud to feature:

  • Fifteen softball/baseball diamonds (eleven are lighted for evening games).
  • Two t-ball diamonds (Both lighted for evening play)
  • Five soccer fields
  • Football field
  • Computerized scoreboards
  • Six softball and baseball batting cages
  • Covered dugouts for players
  • Plenty of fan seating
  • 6 Children’s playground areas
  • Concession stands
  • 3 miles of trail system
  • 260 3D Archery Lanes
  • Half mile exercise trail
  • 7 park pavilions
  • 2 outdoor basketball courts
  • Remote Control Race Track
  • Astronomy Park
  • Indoor facilities that include
    • 3 basketball courts
    • 3 volleyball courts
    • Educational/meeting space
    • High Performance Archery range
  • Outdoor Archery range with covered shooting line

 

Newberry Parks & Recreation along with the Easton Sportrs Development Foundation, i9 Sports and the Gainesville Sports Commission will host leagues, tournaments as well as local, state, national and international events that will attract well over 100,000 participants and spectators for the upcoming year.  

Newberry Parks & Recreation events had an estimated economic impact on the Alachua county area of over $5,000,000 this past year.
