City of Newberry Lowers Electric Bills

The City of Newberry is thrilled to announce a significant decrease in Power Cost Adjustment (PCA) charges, leading to considerable savings for our valued customers. The PCA, which reflects the fluctuations in wholesale power costs, will substantially decrease due to recent reductions in natural gas prices.

Effective June 1, the PCA will drop from $0.045/kWh to $0.025/kWh, marking a substantial decrease of 44% in the PCA. Consequently, the total electric bills for residential and small commercial customers will result in average savings of $20 per month. The average residential bill will decrease from $157.50 to $137.50. Mid to large commercial customers will also see a decrease.

City Manager Mike New said, "At the City of Newberry, we are committed to providing reliable and affordable services to our customers. The lower natural gas prices have enabled us to pass on significant savings to our customers through the reduced PCA. We thank our customers for their patience and understanding during challenging times and reaffirm our commitment to delivering excellent service and value."
