Our Mission

To enhance the quality of life for Newberry residents by providing exceptional athletic programming, enhanced parks, and amazing customer service ensuring that Newberry is a desirable place to live, work, and play.

About Us

The City of Newberry has been able to excel in developing facilities that position itself in the Sports Tourism Industry as well as provide our citizens first-class recreational opportunities.

The City of Newberry has partnered with the Easton Sports Development Foundation, Florida Fish and Wildlife, Suwannee River Water Management District, Florida Greenways and Trails, Florida Recreation Assistant Development Program, M2 Battlesports and Pro Ball Academy to develop what is known as the Easton-Newberry Sports Complex.

The City of Newberry partnered with Alachua County to generate funds through the local bed tax to develop Champions Park. This 16 field complex is one of the premier baseball and softball tournament complexes in the United States, generating visitors from all over the country. Champions Park is currently operated by RADDSports.

In addition to the facilities listed above, keeping the local community in mind, the City of Newberry has Lois Forte Park, Martin Luther King Jr. Community Center, Jimmy Durden Park, Barry Park, and Freddie Warmack Park. The Parks and Recreation Department is dedicated to providing community recreation for our children, youth, and adult participants.
