The ACTFOR League is designed to encourage participation for all kids ages 7-17 who want to play Volleyball. Above all, the league is directed at children/teens with the idea of fun participation and excitement while learning the sport of Volleyball in a positive environment. Some specific purposes for the league are:

  • To give each child the opportunity to learn the importance of good sportsmanship and fair play competition.
  • Teach the basic rules, skills, and techniques involved in Volleyball so each child can play and enjoy the game.
  • To allow each child to meet in friendly competition with other children of the same age.
  • To expose players to different styles of coaching strategies to further develop their skills.

Player Evaluations

We will implement a player evaluation and drafting process for all 14U and 17U participants. Players will check in at the specified date and time in order to participate in their evaluation. At this time, each player will be given a distinct number they will wear for the remainder of the evening so they can be easily and anonymously identified during the coach's drafting period immediately after the participant's evaluations.

Practice Information

Practices are held during the week. Coaches select the times, but they do not start before 6 PM and do not finish later than 9 PM. Please notify the coach if a practice date/time conflicts with your schedule, and we will see if adjustments can be made.

Game Information

Games may take place during the week and on weekends. Games will take place at Newberry, Alachua, and High Springs. There will be an end-of-season tournament to conclude the season, taking place on a Saturday.

The Alachua County Task Force on Recreation Board of Directors creates the game schedule. The schedule is not completed until all leagues have provided their team counts. Once a game schedule becomes available, all parents and coaches will be sent a copy via email.
